Here are some pics from my adventures at SPX2011.

Met tons of cool people and did a wee bit of drinking. :-)

I was STAFF, motherfuckers! (which is pretty cool if you couldn't get a table)

I also used my fledgling ink brush skills to draw a SCORPENIS. 

 I also drew an unshucked cob of corn. It's just fuckin CORN, people.

I also drew a picture of my mom's dog for her. His name is Ridley.

And then I drew something for myself. Her name is hot chick.

 I also attended the Ignatz Awards reception and hung out with my friend Eden who wore a hot dress, which inspired people to give her free mini-comics.

 And hanging out with and meeting new people is pretty much all that happened.

Or at least it was all that happened worth mentioning.

pre-SPX2011 POST ! Enjoy, Fuckers!

One of the reasons I don't get as much cartooning done as I should is the fact that one of my other passions is writing REAL letters to people.

Below is photographic evidence of another huge reason I haven't been producing as much art as I'd like. The cats know that if they place their furry fuckin bodies between my hands and my obsession, their tummies will become my new obsession. (FUCK YOU, Miss Nix. Stop ruining my drawing sessions!)


Second to last reason I haven't been as prolific as I'd like: long silent walks along the waters of the bay.


Last reason I haven't been a comic makin machine: I actually spend most of my drawing time making personal comics with my friends, the picture below being a small sample.

IT IS FINISHED.

The entirety of Jesus Wept Volume One is completely inked and shaded. All that remains is the tedious task of scanning the hundreds of pages of finished product. Woo-fuckin-hoo.
The pages I've decided to exclude from the final draft number in the hundreds (almost 1,000 actually), so I guess you could say volume two AND three are already finished as well.
Anyway, FUCK YOU. I finished it, dammit. And then I immediately had awesome sex. I repeat: FUCK YOU.

SPX 2010 UPDATE!

SPX was a fuckin blast.

I sold out of 98% of my merchandise on the first day. Woo. Hoo.

Hand out over 300 free mini-comics and 600+ free stickers. Woo. Hoo.

Also conducted numerous awesome trades for the work of other artists.

After discovering new pens, new shading styles, receiving inking assignments late and unfinished from various artists, I've found the strength to admit to myself that I'm not going to have jack-shit ready for SPX2010.

So I'm throwing together some samples and using the Expo as a chance to network and apologize to all the artists I've emailed while intoxicated.

I'll send out the samples I'm selling at SPX to those I love or wish to impress.

90 pages of Volume One remain uninked.
The first printing will be an abridged version

(edited down from 1500 to 700 pages).

All inking, coloring, shading, lettering, and final scanning

should be finished by the end of May.
Early July is the loosely projected printing date.
